Research Focus
Two research areas are involved: plant reproductive biology and small grain improvement. Reproductive studies using sesame and maize as test species, involve examining the fertilization process with emphasis on pollen transmission and pollen genotype selection. Small grain (wheat, rye, triticale, oats) improvement involves genetic analysis in addition to cultivar improvement.
