Research Focus
Majority of appointment is in extension, with research being conducted on management techniques for tobacco and peanut production. Pest control, variety testing, and fertilization are included. Also evaluation of tobacco breeding lines for virus resistance is conducted.
Extension Focus
Publications are prepared to assist in the selection of management programs for efficient peanut and tobacco production. Tours, field days, and meetings present current research, demonstration, and extension programs to county extension agents, growers, industry personnel and others. Assistance is provided in solving production problems in peanuts and tobacco.
