Research Focus
Research focuses on production of agronomic crops using conservation tillage techniques looking at the following factors:
- General fertility management in conservation tillage and management of soybean, cotton, small grains, canola, and tropical corn
- Cover and or winter cash crops and how they influence the second crop economically and in relation to nitrogen, disease, nematode, and influence on growth
- Transgenic crops and how they fit into conservation tillage programs
Extension Focus
Transfer of information from an applied research program directly to farms in the area of conservation tillage and general management of agronomic crops. Work is accomplished through county extension faculty and with agribusiness that have growers interested in or have needs in areas of production agriculture.
