Graduate Research Assistantships

State Funded Assistantships

The Agronomy Department has a limited number of state supported assistantships that are awarded on a competitive basis. To merit consideration for one of these assistantships, previous academic record, GRE and TOEFL scores, and references must reflect above average potential. Matriculation fees for in-state and out of-state students are normally waived for students on assistantship. Due to the limited number of state assistantships available, it is recommended that prospective students contact faculty members in the chosen area of specialization about funding and supervisory guidance.

The University of Florida is located in North Central Florida and has over 40,000 students with 21 colleges. For more information, go to the University of Florida and City of Gainesville web sites.

Students wishing to apply for an assistantship should complete the UF Application for Graduate Fellowship or Assistantship form which is available on-line.
