Graduate Student Deadlines
Graduate student deadlines must be met in a timely manner as indicated below. These deadlines are important to your program and failure to comply will cause your records to be flagged. When a student record is flagged, the student is unable to register for additional coursework at the University of Florida. Therefore, the department encourages each student to insure compliance with deadlines and requirements.
1st Semester
- Establish e-mail address. An application for e-mail may be obtained from the following Web page: www.gatorlink.ufl.edu. The Graduate Coordinator and Department Chairman use e-mail for most communications with graduate students.
- Select Supervisory Committee members and submit names to Graduate Coordinator.
- Meet with Supervisory Committee to discuss Program of Study (Form 2). Submit final Program of Study to Graduate Coordinator.
Graduating Semester
- Complete details of Final Examination and provide information to Graduate Coordinator at least 12 work days prior to exam data.
- Schedule exit interview with Graduate Coordinator; Pickup Final Examination form; submit a single PDF file of your thesis/dissertation along with copy of your signature page.
- Schedule exit interview with Assistant Dean for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (Dr. Luzar 392-2252); For non ETD students, submit a copy of thesis/dissertation to Dean's Office. ETD students, submit copy of academic abstract; Signature page; Get final exam form signed by Dean.
- Submit thesis/dissertation to Graduate School; Submit final exam form to Graduate School.
Assistantship
- For students on assistantship, the Letter of Appointment and Graduate Assistant Employment Evaluation must be executed and returned to the academic office (304 Newell Hall) no later than 10 work days after receipt. These documents are critical to the employment and fee wavier status of graduate students. Reappointment will occur each semester.
Registration Requirements for Full-Time Students
