PLS 5633: Aquatic Plant Management (3) This course will provide students with a better understanding of aquatic plant management. Students will learn about aquatic ecosystems, focusing on the role and impacts of nuisance aquatic plants, and how to manage aquatic weeds using chemical, mechanical, cultural, biological, and preventative methods.

AGR 6322 Advanced Plant Breeding (3) Prereq: AGR5321 and STA6167. We will explore population genetics, mating designs and how to select them depending on the species, mode of reproduction and breeding strategy. The quantitative genetics associated with the mating design will be explored. Finally, how to incorporate genomic information in different breeding programs will be discussed. Examination of various breeding techniques used by agronomic and horticultural crop breeders in Florida. AGR 6932 - Experimental Design and Data Analysis (3) This course is designed to provide participants with hands-on skills needed to analyze their own experimental data efficiently using appropriate statistical procedures, while also providing the theoretical framework.
AGR 6932 SWS 6932 - Ecosystem Services: Theory, Methods, and Practice - Zhao (3) This course will examine ecosystem services from an interdisciplinary perspective centering on the conceptual background, indicators, and various quantitative and qualitative approaches for ecosystem services assessments, including biophysical, socio-economic, model-, expert-, and citizen science-based methods.
AGR 6932 - Multi-Omic Integration for Applied Prediction Breeding (3) This course is intended for students in Plant and Animal Sciences with emphasis on breeding applications. Students will learn the basis for modeling trait performance of genotypes assisted by the integration of multiple data types ‘omics’ considering different approaches (parametric and non-parametric Artificial Intelligence AI).
AGR 6932 - Plant Chromosomes and Genomes (3) This course is designed to introduce students to plant chromosome structures, inheritance, and the basic genomic tools to analyze plant genomes.
AGR 6932 - Spreadsheets as a Research Tool (3) AGR 6932 is a 3-credit hour course composed of 20 lectures, 10 homework assignments, five written paper reviews, five online discussion contributions in CANVAS to posted paper reviews, and two examinations.
