Dr. Ann Blount

Professor, Forages

Dr. Blount has worked with Florida forages for over 30 years and has been involved in developing over 80 cultivars/germplasm releases of sub-tropical forages. Her efforts in variety development includes releases of bahiagrass, perennial peanut, ryegrass, rye, oat, triticale, forage soybean, limpograss, and clover cultivars that are currently grown in the Southeastern U.S. and in other subtropical regions worldwide. She has international expertise in subtropical forage systems and works collaboratively with forage breeders in Central and South America, Australia and Africa. Her Extension program focuses on improving forages for farmers based on their production systems and needs.
