Dr. Petelewicz evaluates new chemistries for their potential use in turfgrass crops. He tests novel products in combination with currently available herbicides to ensure their best utility and longevity. He evaluates the integration of chemical and non-chemical practices to enhance the efficacy and safety of weed control measures and the capacity of turf to withstand competition with weeds. The ultimate goal is to develop comprehensive weed control programs that are effective, safe and reduce the occurrence of herbicide-resistant weed populations.
